kd7sovI have noticed, recently, a change in the way I act and perceive myself relative to leeshajoy, at least where pony-munning matters are concerned.
When we started, she was the mun of Twilight Sparkle and the senior ponymun, whereas I was the mun of Fluttershy and the junior ponymun (by a month, if we want to be specific about it, but she was also the one who most directly introduced me to Pony, so that factored in). And it showed: as Fluttershy-mun I deferred to Twilight-mun, and as junior ponymun I deferred to the senior ponymun.
But now, when the number of ponymuns is increasing and each of us is intending to app another character from that canon in May, the roles-as-I-see-them are shifting. There is still the Fluttershy-Twilight relationship, and she is still my senior as a ponymun and a ponyfan, but no longer do I see myself as "the junior ponymun". Instead it's more like... she's the Ponymun Leader and I'm the Ponymun Lieutenant, or she's the Captain and I'm the Executive Officer. I feel like I need to take a more direct role - never overriding, but contributing much more than before.
Part of it may be that she's intending to app Luna, who is a Princess (and therefore an authority figure) but not somepony to whom Fluttershy (or Cranky) is necessarily directly answerable. Part of it may be that Fluttershy is gradually becoming more confident, both in canon and in Milliways. Part of it may just be that I'm becoming more accustomed to our particular roles and expectations. Part of it, I am fairly sure, is that we are getting more players, and I'm no longer just one of two - it's not a linear relationship any more.
