Okay. So. There's some big to-do about Harry Potter movies lately. So the other night I rewatched 5, and tonight I watched 6 again. And... Brain just kinda went into overdrive.
The first bit is rather tame, as things go. It is simply a meeting I would like to see happen. Whether in my RP, or someone else's, or some fanfic, or whatever. A meeting, specifically, between Fluttershy and Luna Lovegood. Yes, as a number of people have pointed out, Pinkie-Luna would be more... exciting, but I want to see Fluttershy-Luna.
The second is... somewhat more distracting. Those of you who are familiar with my LJ archives will be aware that I have a great fondness for the Six, as I call the set of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, and Luna, being all gathered. Sadly, Rowling and the people making the Potter movies seem to not share this fondness, or at least not to such a degree. They'll often stick as many as four of them in the scene, which drives me batty because the other two aren't there. There is, however, another set of six characters who have taken over a certain proportion of my thoughts recently: the Pony cast. Most specifically, at the end of movie 6 tonight I was going "gather the Six! You need the full set of Elements!" But on reflection, I'm not sure they would have them even if they did gather.
The Elements in question are Equestria's Elements of Harmony - Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty, Loyalty, and SPOILER (but not very) Magic. Each is represented, or embodied, or some such, by one member of the Mane Cast. The problem is that attempting to map these onto the Potterverse Six is... difficult. Hermione is Magic, no problem, and I'd stick Laughter on Ron and Loyalty on Neville. Luna isn't so much Kindness as she is General Vague Goodness, but that's just the start of the trouble. What's left is Generosity and Honesty, neither of which is a very good fit for either Harry or Ginny. There's some room for shuffling them around, but to be honest, there's none of them that seems especially relevant to Harry himself. He's not particularly kind, or funny, or generous, or honest, or loyal, or even magical - decently skilled at magic, sure, but nothing extraordinary.
Hmph.
