So, it's been a week, and the clicking* seems to have stopped. So here are my thoughts on Book 7.

May I just say that Neville and Luna are each more win than anything else at the moment? Especially when Neville takes the Sword of Serpentbane (which is, by the way, my new name for Gryffindor's sword. Aside from the ring, it has only been used to kill snakes. Yes, I count the snake on the locket.) and cuts off Naginicrux.

They should have gathered the Six. Never were the six all together until the end.
You are perhaps confused? Very well. This is indicative of the way my mind works. It is derived largely from Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising, which contains the poem excerpted and cut into pieces below:

When the Dark comes rising

(Chapter 1 is called The Dark Lord Ascending, what more can you ask for?)

Six shall turn it back

In OOTP, how many members of the Dumbledore's Army came to the fight at the ministry? Six. In HBP, how many students were in the First Battle of Hogwarts? Six. The same six. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, Luna.

Three from the Circle, three from the Track.

In DIR, the Circle refers to the Old Ones, immortal wizards dedicated to opposing the Dark, while the Track is implied to be the equivalent of Muggles. This is a little shaky, but: Ron, Ginny, and Luna were raised as wizards, by wizards, whereas Harry and Hermione were raised as Muggles by Muggles and Neville was raised as a possible Squib.

Wood, Bronze, Iron, Water, Fire, Stone;
Five shall return, and one go alone.

The six Signs are harder to figure out. Wood is the wands, obviously, and if you want to include the Hallows you can have the Elder Wand for Wood, the Cloak for Water, and the Ring for Stone. I can't figure out Bronze or Iron, though, and Fire has to be Gryffindor.

The next line was confusing enough in the orignal, as three of the Six could be considered to be "going alone", but I figure Harry, by slightly dying, is doing so; on the other hand, Luna has been going alone all her life, and Neville could be considered somewhat alone at the end.

Ah, well.

I have decided to dub the Hallows the Ring, the Rod, and the Wraith, simply for the alliteration.

I just got the first three, so I now have them all and can go through looking for clues and interlinkages and trying to match up the dates. Fun.

*The clicking is how I refer to it when something comes along - like HP 7 or Heroes episode 22 - that makes a whole lot of other stuff make sense. I get a sensation very much like that scene near the end of The Book of Night with Moon, when the Powerspell is putting itself together inside Rhiow's head, with pieces clicking into place. Thus, the clicking.

Iron could be Ravenclaw's diadem, and Bronze Hufflepuff's cup, perhaps?
