This is to announce that
adiva_calandia is Officially Awesome.
A while back she mentioned liking To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis. I read it, enjoyed it, and went on to investigate other books by the same author.
And then, a couple of weeks ago, I found Miracle and Other Christmas Stories. It was, quite possibly, the best collection of short stories I have ever read.
So, in conclusion? Connie Willis (usually)*= awesome. Person recommending Connie Willis = awesome. Therefore,
adiva_calandia = awesome.
*There was one story in Fire Watch that I quite intentionally didn't read very much of. I guess it just goes to show that no one can be perfect all the time.

Date: 2008-01-15 01:30 am (UTC)I'm glad you like her! I also highly recommend Bellwether. I know a lot of people who like Doomsday Book, but I haven't managed to get so into that one.

Date: 2008-01-16 01:59 am (UTC)My favorite so far is probably Uncharted Territory, mainly because of the biologist. (Although I was annoyed that I had no idea the narrator was a woman until we saw the "pop-up".)
