So one of my cousins got married recently, and we went to her reception tonight. There was, naturally, some music and dancing going on, and I was surprised at how many of the songs I had previously heard.
But.
When "Rock Around the Clock" came on, I started "singing along" (quite quietly) with "Philadelphia Chickens". Scary part: it fit very well.
If you don't know Philadelphia Chickens, you ought to. It comes from a Sandra Boynton CD of the same name, which is chock full of utterly silly songs that evoke common song styles, generally sung by famous people; for instance, Kevin Kline sings "Busybusybusy", Meryl Streep has "Nobody Understands Me"... Great stuff.
