A couple more observations regarding Golden Compass that I didn't mention yesterday:
It appears that movieverse panserbjørne don't have blood. In the Iorek-Iofur fight in the book, there is mention of quite a bit of blood. In the movie there was absolutely none.
Also, there is now empirical evidence: eyeglasses do give me a more favorable impression of the wearer than the lack thereof. I have long suspected such, but the scene in which Mrs. Coulter tellsLyra Prettywater to put the bag away, in which she both puts on and takes off a pair of glasses, has confirmed it.
Also, I still want to know what kind of person names their daughter Dakota Blue outside the Potterverse.
