My little sister has been making a plush version of Toothless, from How to Train Your Dragon. She finished it last night, and this morning I took a few pictures.

I have become convinced that Brain is taunting me. It started innocuously enough a few months ago, when I sort of started idly statting out Felix for Homestuck. All was fine for a while, until... someone posted this to one of the Golden Sun groups on deviantArt. Buried in there is a snippet that changes (inner) worlds: "[S] Ivan: Do the windy thing" Immediately, Brain started in on the parallels, and before long had decided that I needed to set up all sixteen party members from the Golden Sun games for Sburb sessions. Soon I had set up a spreadsheet with all the HS kids and trolls, their colors, titles, lands, and so on, and started in on the Sunnites. Now Brain has decided that I ought to set up Himi - the last person to join in Dark Dawn - as being related to Mary, from Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. Due to the rather twisted way Brain works, this would make her a one-person four-way crossover. (Because, you see, Mary entered the picture as another potential ship for the version of Felix in the Young Wizards 'verse, after I decided it would be too much trouble to make Sheba work both as a similarly-transplanted character and as a love interest for this Felix.)

And, as long as I'm here, [livejournal.com profile] ceitfianna has presented me with questions from the Interview Meme:

→ Leave a comment saying you want to be interviewed.
→ I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
→ Update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
→ Include this explanation.
→ Ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

Here's what she asked! )

When I'm making a picture in Inkscape, I tend to start from shapes or lines and modify them. This can sometimes produce... interesting results.

Take, for instance, something I'm doing that includes Felix. I had placed the head and facial features, and was working on the hair, when I noticed something odd about the way it looked.

Not exactly how Felix wants to look, I think.

I did it!

Some of you may recall the Milliways Charity Auction for Haiti, in relation to which I mentioned a picture involving Toph beating up Felix.

Well. I've finally managed to make it.

Ta-da! )

This is also a post to show off my new icon. You see, I worked on this picture from left to right, and before I put Toph in it looked like Felix had scored a critical failure on his earth-attack. For the record, I hate dealing with text in Inkscape.

I'm considering a set of fanarts emphasizing each of the classic elements, and particularly the centrism thereof. I started with "core of earth", "soul of fire", and "heart of water", but couldn't come up with any synonym I liked for air. After some thought - and some ultimately unhelpful perusing of a thesaurus - it occurred to me that I could do "soul of air" if I switched "core" to fire. This necessitates a replacement for earth, which brings me to this post.

Do you think "pillar of earth" would work, or is that too close to the imagery of Lot's wife?

Dear Hands:

What's the problem? Brain can "see" it in three easily-reproduced art styles, as well as at least two that are rather more difficult. So why can't you put it on paper in any of them?

Look, I don't care that it's ridiculous, that it's frivolous, or that it could never happen. Just draw it!

Moderate love, Me.
